The course at the Model Finishing School has been designed to achieve our objective of equipping the educated unemployed youth to secure gainful employment in the new-age sectors. Training The structured course extends over a period of 45 days, covering technical and soft skills. The sessions in soft skills are aimed at exposing students in areas most needed in varying stages of life and job, say, communication and interpersonal skills and team building, to name some. Equal accent is laid on enhancing the English language skills of the students.  Individual attention and rigorous evaluations are the hallmark of the course. The students are put through various activities to help them overcome inhibitions of any sort and realize their full potential. Regular home assignments are given to strengthen classroom learning. Extra support is also given to weaker students.  Training is held at the Finishing School premises, Science and Technology Museum Complex, PMG Junction, Trivandrum.  Faculty Training is provided by faculty members drawn from diverse fields and trained by Infosys, complemented by expert faculty from the industry. Infrastructure The Model Finishing School has the necessary infrastructure to train 90 students simultaneously, divided into three batches of 30. The air-conditioned classrooms are equipped with one-to-one computers, ergonomically designed chairs and overhead projectors. The ambience at the Model Finishing School has been so created so as to give the students an exposure to work in the corporate setting.    Eligibility & Selection The course is aimed at engineering graduates belonging to Kerala who have secured an aggregate minimum of 60 per cent in their final examinations. Engineering graduates from all streams/disciplines can apply. Selection will be based solely on merit after meticulous scrutiny of applications, subject to a maximum of 90 students, divided into three classes of 30. Reservation as per Government of Kerala norms for professional courses will be allowed. The Admission Notification for the next batch will be hosted in this website shortly.  Accommodation Model Finishing School does not make any accommodation arrangements for outstation candidates. There are however several Government and private run hostels in the vicinity, in which students can get themselves convenient accommodation at affordable rates.  Placement Job fairs and campus recruitment programmes would be held at our premises after the completion of each batch. Reputed companies from Technopark, Infopark and from parts of the country would take part in the campus placement programme. Training Fee The fee for this training would be Rs.15,000, including working lunch and tea on all days of training. Meritorious and successful candidates will be given a scholarship of Rs.5000 upon the completion of the training.
